In The Buff...

So...

im in the process of freshening up Motorbug's appearance.
fresh paint here and there...
some wax...

and today...
the cowl just started to look way out of place with all the freshening up...
and buffing...

so...

and while i was at it...
my antenna needed a little flare...

fresh front view pic...

anybody else who has some fresh flashy cleanup work is welcomed to post up... this is a thread about agelifting for our trucks...

Yours is looking good. I need to figure out how to get some of the patch paint and cover up some of the spots in my paint.

How did you get that cowl looking so good? Did you paint it or did you use that plastic trim refresh stuff they sell?

Flat black rustoleum.
Still need to hit my bed rail pads.
Got pretty much everything else looking that fresh...
Mirrors, door handles, grille, lower bumper, nerf bars, steel wheels, frame, most of the front end under parts... rust prevention is your friend.

I guess I need to start pulling those plastic pieces off the truck and start painting them as well.

I've definitely gotta paint mine. It's gonna make a huge difference, that's for sure.

Good idea for a thread, looks good doc.

Under hood needs some love every now and then too!

Although this isn't what's under my hood, it really needed cleaned up, so...

Before.

and after a bit of cleaning, not bad for the first polishing pass.

As for plastics, I polish those too, but for the average user the "back to black" stuff works pretty well, I'm not a big fan of spray cleaners though, but it works pretty well. I have not tried the "wipe new" but I was given some to try.

Its not specifically for plastics...
But it bonds very well and its nice and affordable...

Regular old flat black rustoleum.

The bright green on my truck is the grabber green engine enamel...

You can go by your local auto paint suppler and get a Spray can of BullyDog.
It is a prep / flex additive you use on plastic before you paint it.
It etches to plastic and allows the paint, after painted to Flex with out cracking and chipping..
