Salvage Title

Is it even possible to get a salvage title changed to rebuilt if there is basically no damage to the vehicle? I know I have seen lots of cheap trucks with a salvage title where the insurance paid for the truck and therefore gave it a salvage title even with only minor damage.

Best check with the KY DMV. Each state is different.

here in jersey, you need photos and a list of the damage to thew vehicle. then you need to repair it and keep ALL receipts showing where the parts came from, and the VIN from the vehicle the parts came from if not aftermarket parts.
once it is complete with paint, you must present everything to the state police for inspection.
if they find anything wrong it will fail inspection and need to be fixed before being inspected again. each inspection costs $100, pass or fail.
once a vehicle gets a salvage title, it stays that way.
if you are looking for a resale vehicle, forget about it. "S" title cars sell for around 1/4 book value.
if you are looking for a good vehicle you are going to run forever, it is worth it.
i have rebuilt 6 "S" title cars for family members over the years.
