2003 F250 DIESEL 6.0 OVERHEATING...?
Help on 2006 f250 diesel 6.0, please! Is it the head gasket, waterpump, or something else? Just had the oil cooler, radiator, hose, coolant reservoir, thermostat replaced with egr delete. too. Coolant is overheating in reservoir...can hear it "boiling down" when I release gas pedal. Does not overheat all the time. No white smoke, black smoke, rough running, no milkshake on oil dipstick, very little gray residue in degas bottle (maybe mechanic did not flush system well?!) but no residue in coolant. Seems like it runs fine for awhile and then I notice that boiling down sound which is accompanied by coolant coming from degas, but the temp gauges never show a high temp...yes, they do seem to work normally otherwise. Heater is working fine in cab. I like my truck and would like to keep it, but if I have to pay for a head gasket job I'm afraid I'll have to sell it and I'm not gonna get near the price I need to get!

alot of things can cause cooling system problems Not just HeadGaskets
Bad Water Pump
Cavitated Front Cover
Fan Clutch Problems
Bad Temp Sender
Bad Coolant bottle Cap
Radiator might have junk in the fins Impeding cooling
So does it PUKE Coolant out the Degass Bottle??
To check for HG Problems you would put a Pressure gauge on the Cooling system on one of the Smaller Vent hoses and drive
