Welcome to FTE..

Your mileage will depend on several factors...

Type of transmission
Rear end ratios
Tire size
Driving Habits.
Loaded or empty.
City driving,open road..

These are just a few..

You can figure(roughly) between 12 and 17...
These numbers seem to be average...Some get more, some less..

Keeping your engine tuned up as it should be will give you the best you can get...Hope this helps you...Trav..

4 bbl carb with bored .40 over? 12-15 mpg.

The more you bore an engine the less fuel mileage it will get. The combustion chamber has to be filled with something...

In case you didn't know, these late 80's 300 sixes had a computer controlled carb and ignition. They have gotten rid of this system, so that's why they changed the carb AND the ignition system. You you will be ahead in that respect(if it all works ok).
