Did you try pulling the fuses for your stereo then reinserting them? Sometimes doing this can reset things. No guarantees, but it's worth a shot. The fuse locations are in the Roadside Emergencies section of your owners manual, if you don't have your owners manual you can find it here. https://owner.ford.com/servlet/Conte...ge&ord=3817660 There are multiple fuses for your radio so make sure you pull them all. Looks to me like you want fuse numbers 11 and 32. If this doesn't fix it then you probably need to send it in to get fixed or buy a used one off ebay to replace it.
That sounds pretty easy and I'll try it, however there has been at least two battery changes and two alternator changes (don't buy alternators on e-bay!!) since the cd player crapped out.
I know I pulled both batteries and took them in to have them checked and charged when I installed the first alternator. I had driven 380 miles (Frenchglenn, Oregon to Portland) with a shot alternator putting out about 9 volts.
