so far today i replace with a new 825 cca battery, wires, plugs, cap, rotor, intake filter, oil filter and 6qt oil. ever since i got the truck, i been having hard time starting it, it's not the battery or the stater, my friend said it might be the carb? so what ya think? some black smoke comes out sometime too, assuming it's burning rich.
when i turn the key, it just keep cranking but won't start. sometime i turn the key and it just start up fine, but sometime i turn the key it almost starts, i hear the gas inside the carb.
well for the carb, i'm assuming is the original carb. this truck haven't been modifed in anyways, all stock. beside me with the k&n filter by me, hehe...
i have manual choke, it start better when i had it's wide open.

this could be a few things, first i would try the timing and then i would just go ahead and replace the points. It could also be the accelerator pump. if the timing and the points are good, go get a rebuild kit for your carb. rebuilding the carbs. are easy if you pay attention to what you are doing. but if none of this works tell us and maybe we can think of something else.
just got a carb kit, my dad help me rebuild it. once it put it on, it had a little hard time starting. but after awhile, it ran like a champ! very powerful, it's werid once i put into drive the engine slow start dying and shut off, how come? idle is good...
