My local Wal-Mart has stopped selling Chevron Supreme.I was thinking of using Motorcraft dino 10w30.Anyone have any info on this oil?Good or bad?I was also leaning towards Pennzoil,Castrol,or Havoline.
I have always used motorcraft....what can I say, Ford loyal, but I have heard some bad things about it. such as it containing wax or some such I have never had a problem, soooo who knows.?
I've heard from a few different mechanics that engines they have disassembled seemed to have a gummy build up when Pen. Oil was used over extended time periods. However, I can not talk from personal experience as I have always used Valvoline. I am considering a switch to Chevron Supreme though. My local Costco (in Salem, OR) sells the Chevron at a bargain price. This is the only reason I am considering switching from Valvoline. I have one car with 255,000 plus miles on it using Valvoline dino oil. I would be comfortable using Motorcraft oil as well though--haven't heard of any problems with it.

I've been using penzoil for 20 years now, never had any problems. I have heard about sludge build-up and other problems with Quakerstate which was I believe was bought out by Penzoil.
