Ok guys bare with me I am new here. I have a 2001 F250 CC 4x4 with a V10. Last weekend coming back from the desert towing a 26 foot toy box full, I lost all power and the engine was running like crud. No smoke no oil pouring out just no power and not running right. Took to get looked at and I am being told the I have blown the head gasket and they are recommending to replace the heads ECT... I have been reading how the newer V10's have more power. So I was wondering if rebuilding my V10 with just over 100000 miles is worth it or if I could pick up the newer v10 3V and if it would work in my 2001 truck and be feasible to hook up or will it be more of a headache than its worth. Also could I upgrade to the new torqshift transmission too? I am looking to build it right and try to get as much power out of it as I can.
I just found a post on here where someone had upgraded a 2V to a 3V. I think it is more than I want to tackle. So guess I will be rebuilding the original motor!!
You would be better off repairing as cheaply as possible and then selling that truck to buy an new three valve truck, or just repair it well and keep it. You would have to change out almost every electrical harness in the existing truck to put a three valve V10 into it as the three valvers are fly by wire and can bus ect. Just my two cents.

Agreed. Would probably be cheaper to just buy a 3V truck
