flywheel trouble

Hi I'm going through a phase with my 79 Ford f150 469 where I AK burning through starters . I think I'm going to switch out my flywheel . Right now it has a 164 tooth flywheel can anyone tell ne what kind I am suppose to have need to get rid of this grinding asap

The 460 swaps eat starters if not done right.

If you have an internally balanced 460(78-earlier),they probably used a 360/390 flywheel..but still have the 460 starter.It wont mesh right.

If thats the case...I believe the cheapest/easiest fix is a 351m/400 starter with the drive from a 360/390 starter.

You might have to disassemble the 2 starters and swap the drives out or gear, what ever it requires, I always converted autos.

So I have to but two starters to fix the problem? Wouldn't it be easier to just swap the flywheel

Or could I just find a starter like that? Or would I just have a mechanic do it
