LMC VS. Mid Fifty?

Don't know if they still have it but LMC had a deal if you purchased $1000.00 or more the shipping was free, even if its freight.

I have not dealt with LMC but have purchased a couple of orders with Mid Fifty. Mid fifty is good....but I did feel that the caller on the other end was a bit annoyed when I had questions about lowering my truck with their parts. I ddn't have that feeling that she wanted to thoroughly explain my options. She basically wanted me to read the lowering portion page of their catalog and get off of the phone. That would be my only notation.

I just got this from Mac's - it is nice and made in the USA! The picture isn't very good at showing the chrome, but it is really nicely chromed and fits perfect. I have also ordered from Dennis Carpenter and LMC. So far I haven't had any problems with any of them. I bought a lot of items from Mac's for the 50 Ford sedan that I did years ago and never had any bad items then either.

I live 150 miles from LMC and have bought several things from them. Especially big truck freight items. As far as fenders etc I am sure all the companies buy from the few manufactures of big parts like doors. fenders, hoods, bed sides.
I also buy from Mid fifty and mac's. I have gotten some things from Dennis Carpenter. Some of the things I have bought from all of then have been less that great quality and have returned items to all of them.
I guess my thought would be, buy from who ever gives you the best deal on big items. The smaller specialty items are sometimes only caried by one dealer. I don't think you can go wrong from any of them. I also have bought from the supplier in Ohio whose name excapes me right now. Think it's Hot rods trucks or similar.
The husband and wife come to the Showme f150 show in Branson MO. every years and are fantastic to deal with.
Good luck

I remember the desire to send $10,000 in one order. It's fun to shop for parts you know you don't need for a year or more. I would buy parts for a couple different tasks to ensure I didn't run out of work. In your case some cab patches and mounts. Then throw a piece of fancy stuff in the order for later. A V8 emblem for that 53 grill you bought looks really nice on your dresser for now. Way better than girlie knick knacks Pick away at the trim as you go and you won't need $2000 worth of it at the end. Don't buy rubber parts you don't need yet. Some of that stuff is suspect quality and has a shelf life.

Good experience with both.
Only real gripe for me is Mid-Fifty's shipping charges. The tootsie rolls are a nice treat, but the heafty freight/shipping charges based on order total rub me the wrong way.

I have used almost all the vendors that are being discussed here and have only had bad experiences with MAC's. They had great customer support until they were bought up by Eckles. The last issue I had they promised to call me back within 4 hours and then never did. I sent them 3 emails and they never responded to any of them. I no longer buy from them. I have had good experiences with both LMC and Midfifty. Never had a reason to contact Midfifty customer support. I got 2 pieces of glass from LMC that were slightly too large and after talking with them they refunded my money and told me to just toss the bad glass. They do still give free shipping (including freight and oversize charges) if your order is over $1000.

I personally like Mid-Fifty. Only had one issue with something I bought (chrome spotted) and they replaced it with no issues. I like that they are clear and upfront with what they are selling. And Tootie Rolls, can't beat that. If nothing else they've specialized in our trucks and I like helping out smaller businesses, especially when they have a passion for what they are selling.
