....Cummins. I've been participating in various diesel forums for 3 years now and finally made the leap to diesel. Went and traded in the ole' Superduty and got myself an '03 HO Cummins with a 6 speed and MAN do I love that truck. After reading about all of the 6.0L horror stories I know I made the right decision. It's been fun running off and leaving Fords and Chevies with just the slight push on the pedal....
The first thing I noticed was how QUIET these things are. I can actually go through a drive through without shutting down. Then I drove it.....WOW....the power and acceleration on this thing is amazing. I almost feel sorry for you Ford guys now. Never knew what I was missing...
Wow what are you gonna do when that truck rusts around you and it gets real noisy from all the wind gettin through. Somebody said on here that the 96 and up dodes seemed to be holding together better than the old ones. Well I saw one yesterday that was rusted stupid. Too bad thats a heck of an investment.
And just a note of caution, don't be a troll. This is a Ford owners site and you are being silly to try and think that one experience would change nearly 100,000 members.
Hoss you bought a Dodge and are still the thorn in the side of DTR. I was shocked to see a Diehard Ford guy buy a Dodge out of nowhere. Loged on one day and I see Cummins Hoss. I about hit the floor. Don't worrie about being called a Troll. they seem to use it very loosely over here. If you even mention haveing a problem with a Ford, you don't really own one and you are just trolling. I see you got 3 threads locked in one day on DTR good job got to keep them Admins on their toes. Just don't get kicked off now that you actually have a Dodge. That would be kinda funny. No actually it would make sense comming from you.

Reckon when that happens I'll just trade in for another one.

Being a troll is what I do best. I know this is a Ford owner's site. That's precisely why I came here. I don't expect to change anyone's mind about Ford...I was just wanted to relate my experience....and maybe brag a little...and maybe rub a little salt in a few wounds.

Well....I was never diehard Ford...and I'm not diehard Dodge. Like I've said many times over there, I'm not loyal to any breed of truck. I buy whatever suits me best at the time I buy it.

You know me. I never worried much about what people called me.

Three?? Wow...there must have been one I didn't know about. It's all in good fun.

I like it.
Is it a manual tranny? I have not seen the dyno report on the H.O., is the torque down low where it should be or is it like the 6.0, racing PSD? I've been thinking about looking at a Dodge. I just wish they made a ton+ truck. Thanks.

Oh yeah...forgot that part. Yeah, I got the 6 speed. I haven't seen a dyno report either, but at least according to the information provided by Dodge the max torque (555 ft-lbs I believe) is at 1200 RPM and the max hp (305 hp) is at 2,900 RPMs. That's just from memory but I'm pretty certain those numbers are correct.
I recently read that Dodge is looking into making a 4500 and a 5500, but I couldn't tell you if they actually will or when that might happen.
You guys will learn to like this Hoss guy. no matter if you don't agree with what he says you will laugh at it. He says some of the funniest stuff in the heat of battle.
Okay...I saw it....what now?? Was that supposed to stifle my excitement about getting out of a gas guzzling, underpowered Ford gasser and into a fuel efficient, power packed Dodge diesel?
