do I need to disconnect both batteries before I start, and when putting the ficm wires back on should I use dio grease, what else should I look for when ficm is out ? thanks for the Info in addvance.
I used dio grease on mine. I also disconnected the batteries just to be safe. It dont take long to take the batteries out. Watch out for the little round things that like to stick to holes on the FICM then fall out and get lost while your moving it from one spot to another. cant think of anything else that taking the FICM out gives you access to. Carefull the plug clips like to break if your not carefull.
I was informed by ed not to use dielectric grease on those connectors. It is an insulator, not a conductor. And the connectors already have oil tight seals on them so nothing gets in them. Just make sure theyre clean and put them back together.
I'd use a little spritz of WD 40 on the pins ( male AND female). WD40 is a water dispersant and would guarantee no moisture inside when you snap on the connectors.
Thanks for all the feed back guys , I didnt use the grease on the pins just the outer plastic so the connection would slip in alittle easyer and it did.alittle FYI dieletic grease, and two 1xs about 1ft long to push the connections in to snap,I found that the center connection was separated so I snap it back together FICM now reads 49 48.5,
something else,in the degus bottle would be our Hpop issuses a nasty white / lite brown color film , when I took the degus off and washed it out real good, did a coolent flush 1 month ago
