I never had the plate between a zf and a 5.8. 5.8 came out of an auto truck and I bought the zf from a guy and never got the plate. I was going to use my 5.0 plate

The 5.0 plate won't work for you, the 5.0 uses the 157 tooth flywheel so the holes for the starter are in the wrong position.
