I am in the process of installing a 532 stroker motor, CJ Motorsport heads etc (should have about 600hp) in an 84' full size Bronco. I am told the 9" rear end will not take this HP & to install a Dana 60 instead. It will have a built C6 & 33" rubber, I dont drive it like I stole like & my main off roading is sand beach driving. Any body have any suggestions. I live in Australia & would appreciate any help.
Well, whoeveer told you that 9 inch cannot take it, does not know no better. a 9 inch can take over 1000 horses and torque.
Alot of people do like that DANA 60, I do not know much about it, but I do know that a 9 inch can take the power. You will need to change the axles you will need more splines. You may also need to beef the rear suspension to keep from ripping the rear end out from under the truck. But the rear end itself, when set up right can take almost any power you can throw at it.
