Any thoughts about using an intake with injector bosses with a stock sd efi system? My 89 f250 460 has, without much argument, the worst... boat anchor heads ford ever made. My idea is to use what ever heads I want with an intake that has bosses for the fuel injectors. I'm pretty sure it would require machining, matching fuel rails and possibly a custom chip. Other than that, it seems like a good way to breed some decent ponies from the 460 dinosaur... Any ideas on a good dual plane intake and head combo? Looking for 300hp/400+tq from a fresh long block.
Also... anybody using evans waterless engine coolant?
check out this forum, might be a better place for your 460-specific question-https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum53/
there's a 460 guru on a few different forums named The Mad Porter, he's got a lot of good info. Check out this thread- '97 460 SD-EFI + D0VE heads? - 460 Ford Forum . From him in that thread "A properly ported factory EFI intake on nicely prepared F3 or E7 fuelie castings will match flow with an eddy performer on ported std valve size doves or D3's any day of the week"
