So is it possible to have a bad master cylinder? I got theTSB for bleeding the cylinders and I bought the bleeding tool also. I have a Elephant gun chambered at 300 Win Mag, and let me tell you I thought about it, 46 days, 46 dang days. Thanks for the help.
Ok, so I didn't use the brain when I posted. It is a Inline 6 (4.9L) with a Borg Warner T-18 4 speed tranny and it's 4 wheel drive. I have read the Chilton's manual, skimmed the Haynes, and purchased the TSB's for the truck.
Wow! Who put a T-18 in a '93? What's the TRANS code from the door sticker? Are you using the original slave cylinder, an old external one, or some aftermarket parts? Where did the bellhousing come from?
I am not sure who put anything in the truck. I was the second owner and I am not even sure it's the original motor. As far as the Bell Housing, it was in there when I got the truck.
The slave is brand new from the dealer and the master is a couple of years old and from a chain parts store.
There are 2 styles of hydraulic clutch, and you have to match the master to the slave. I don't know when the dividing line is, but if you cross it, the clutch won't work. He's more active on http://tellico.off-road.com/ubbthrea...fordbroncolate and his username is "havack". But reread the Haynes instructions for bleeding - he also had a lot of trouble until he followed those instructions, and now he loves the manual trans.
