Well the decision has pretty much been made... converting a 2wd 67' to a 4wd is a major task without a donor frame so tuff to find a crew cab 67' 4x4 frame
Will be cutting the 1985 frame down to fit the 1967 body onto.. then of course the 1985 has the C6 with the 460 and power steering etc...etc.. already and of course I have a 12" lift for it already (wanted a 17" lift but lift laws will make that to tuff to drive around)
Oh No - not another lifted truck! And such a rare one too!!
Everything you do above the rocker panels will be lost to everyone shorter than 7' tall. Oh man - this truck wants to be lowered and have dually rear fenders- it is begging you. Man oh man what a dilemma - slamming is probably going to cost less too! I know all that fancy undercarriage stuff on lifted looks cool too- but this truck wants to be "lowdown and oh so long." Think about it.
I envision , a stretched cab, with another 2 sets of doors. A limo truck :-) Then slam it, attach the fattest MT drag radials you can find and power appropriately :-)
Deck the interior with leather, and lots of LED/LCD engulfed technology.
What's the Max Lift you can get from an Air type suspension? maybe it could be Both- a lifted Limo 4x4 honk as you go under wonder, and a slammed stretch Pro Street longlowrider. It sure is rare. There was an extended cab UniBody (homebuilt) at the Nats- it makes me wish I'd extended the cab on mine (and chopped it 4").
Take my suggestion as well-take lots of pictures of the truck now, before you start, inside and out. There are VERY few of those trucks around, and for posterity's sake, it would be nice for those of us who will never see one to have some pictures to look at. And when you've got the pictures, PM me because I'd like them.
Good luck; you've got a tough and interesting path ahead of you if you go through with this.
