E-150 starter problem
Just wondering if someone could help me out with this problem with my van. It's an 87 e-150 with the 351 engine in it. Anyways, It's been running great till this weekend. I went camping and parked it on friday. I went to start it on sunday and when I turned the key, nothing. It wasn't the battery cause I had all power but nothing when I went to start it. A friend showed me how to jump it at the solenoid behind the battery and it fired right up. Today I changed the solenoid thinking that was the problem but it wasn't. It does the same thing. Could it be the starter is bad? I'd hate to buy a new starter if that's not the problem. Already wasted 16 bucks on the solenoid. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If the starter EVER works, the the starter isn't the problem. Obviously, something is keeping the relay from working normally. Check the LB/R wire on the only small terminal to see if it goes hot when the key is in the START position, and make sure it has good, tight contact with its post on the relay.
