I cannot find anyone who sells the trim tape for the explorer trucks. I know am not the only one who has one of these trucks. Or am I the only one who wants to put the tape back on? It is kind of intrusive but it give the truck personality. Any help would be great.
If you are near a major city with a Graphics business you can just take a photo of what you need and they will make it for you.
When my truck had to be painted in 1985. The trim tape was already obsolete, and if they did happen to have it,the tape would have been un-usable because of its age.
You can also have it painted on like I did by a body shop or a graphic artist.
I live in Atlanta, GA. The color of the stripes are orange. It is a pale yellow or creme color truck. I was afraid that no one made a kit. I can only imagine what a graphic design place will charge. Thanks.
You might try these guys. They do a lot of restoration stuff for cars. They may have already had a few requests for these, and may know how to make them already.
I gave them a call, and Dan was very helpful. I am going to send him a pic of the truck and stripes and he said he will see what he can do. His advice was to paint them on but I wanted to be correct. I will wait to see what they come up with. Now I know why I see all the trucks with explorer badging and no stripes. Just my luck. I always seem to buy the vehicles that when I need parts people say "Oh, you have one of those."
I work in the parts department at a Ford Dealership, and I always complain about how hard it is to look up bumper covers for the new Explorers and Escapes. The old timers laugh at me and tell me that I should have been around for the old trucks with the "Explorer" stripes. I did look in the old microfiche, and there are a lot of choices.
