For even more snap off the line & pulling power, you might want to go with 4.10:1 gears.I had a '93 F-250 4x4 with a 351,and the 4.10:1 gears, and it was a good puller. The only thing about steep cogs is your truck's fuel mileage will go down, but like I said, the 351&4.10s are a good combination, otherwise.
The size of your tires plays a huge roll too. W/ stock tires i'd recommend 3.73s or 4.10s. 3.55s will be marginal with stock tires, nothing finominal. 4.10s will be a little tough on your engine if you drive on the highway a lot. What size tires are you running?
