Please help me remove headlight knob!

Please help me remove headlight ****!
on my 97 F250HD. I've seen posts on here showing that you push a thin screwdriver into the slot and pull the **** off, but mine isn't budging. When i look into the slot I can see a small tab but it doesn't matter if I push the tab out or pull it in, the **** still doesn't slide off. Thanks in advance

Pull the **** out (lights on) and put a "small" flat head screwdriver against the metal shaft farthest toward the dash. Then slide the screwdriver along the shaft into the slot with the tab. Push on the **** with your thumb while pulling with the screwdriver against the tab. Then **** should slide right off. If not, cut the sucker off with yer dremel and go get a new switch for $15. HAHA!
