Talking 6.0L purchase

I am going to order a 2004 F-350 crew cab Lariat with 6.0L engine this fall. I am leaning towards a 6 speed manual transmission because I like being able to decide when the transmission shifts, a little better mileage, more torque, and (hopefully) a long life with few problems. However, I am interested in the new power torque transmission, and I would like to hear from those of you who use it to tow. My truck will be a freeway flyer, with weekends towing a 26 ft. 5th wheel, and occasional hunting trips to the mountains. My questions regarding the auto tranny are:

1. Does this transmission come with an additional cooler, and/or would it be a good idea to install an after market auxillary transmission cooler to avoid overheating while towing?

2. How about an aftermarket pan to increase fluid capacity?

3. If the transmission is serviced regularly, and overheating is avoided, roughly how long can an automatic transmission last?

I generally keep my vehicles for a long time and I expect to be driving this truck 10 years from now, so I want the best.

And finally, are there any options that you recommend, or that you have on your truck, that you're glad you have?

Thanks for your help.

6.0L purchase

Chrome stacks Thats a gotta have on any big truck.
I don't think we will know much about the new tranny sense it has not been out long. Give the heavy haulers time to get some miles on their trucks and we will see what the new Tranny is made out of. Good choice with the 6spd I like haveing to shift when I want to.

Got a new gov kit for my truck. looks like I will be reving to 5500rpm here soon can't wait
