Do you have gauges to verify they're normal? Any mods on the truck? Is this happening during normal driving or towing?

Yup I just changed out my oil cooler and deleted my egr. Yes the egr is still hooked up. Normal driving, Sct tuner to verify temps. It doesnt come on all the time just everynow and then. Truck is up to temp when it does happen.

The fan is controlled by the PCM which monitors several parameters (ECT, TFT, & IAT) to determine fan operation and speed. The fan usually comes on around ECT 210 - 215 deg F, however this will vary somewhat depending on the other parameters being monitored. If you have access to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual you can find detailed information on the operation of the cooling fan.

Ok I see, I dont have access to the manual you speak of, I just wanted to make sure I don't have a problem on the rise. The Lord knows I don't need to throw anymore money at this truck right now. I have a baby on the way in 2 weeks, and this will have to be my daily driver for now.

Is it coming on above the 210 degrees that Cowboy stated?

Congratulations on the baby!! What are you using to verify the fan is coming on? Or are you just looking at it?

Wont your scan gaugeII show you fan speed? I have it displayed on my Torque app. I'm not sure what would be the correct rpm at the parameters you are encountering.

Long story on the scan gauge II it got smashed, and as usual none one knows how it happened So I was using my sct tuner to read the temps, not sure if it will show fan speed or not good point though. I need to go and replace my scan gauge i guess. The whole fan thing just seems odd to me. Maybe it's ok and i'm just being to **** about it

My fan speed reads over 220 rpm upon startup. The highest I have ever seen is 6 something.

Cheezit, I heard it come on while driving, when I got home I raised the hood and it was turning, but not as loud as it was when I was driving.

FordBlueHeart, is that speed your talking about when the ambient air temp is cold?
