Well she's insured and tagged. Seemed like tags were little more than i would of figured, probably back penalty for not being tagged while i was rebuilding it.
Went to the recycle, dumped load limbs, then put her down the highway at about 70mph. The little 223 seemed to take it alright, but didnt like it a lot. I know they werent made to run like that with a 3 on tree, 3.89 gears, and 223. Sure was a lot more quite with the rusted holes in the cab all patched up, even with the window down.
Im no engine guy beyond typical tune ups, but im sure thats about to change. For you engine guys, i found this in the paperwork. Right now she has 99,125 miles on her. (Im pretty confident the odometer never rolled over).
From 1974
From 1996
Im thinking grandpa tore down the engine in 96 and had some work done, then rebuilt it.

I was just doing a search to see everyone's projects and this caught my eye! I read the post from start to finish! WOW! What a beautiful truck. You have done an amazing job in bringing that truck to life. I just recently purchased a '63 from my neighbor that's the same color. I love that color as well! I have to admit, this thread really motivates me to get going on not just the truck, but other project cars I have as well! Great job!

I most definitely will! I probably won't go as far into mine as you did yours though! Not now at least. I need to get it out of the neighbors garage and get the darn thing legal first. Then I will tear into things! I anxiously wait for the weekend to get here so I can throw a new fuel pump on it and hopefully pull it out!
