I have a 1999 F350 7.3 Auto, 4x4 duelie 4dr, this issues I'm having is no start. I had an old starter that was having issues, I had to short the solenoid out to get home. This started the truck, next time I tried to start it, the start would spin at warp speed but, not send in the bendix. I when to Napa, $160, some odd dollars, I walked out with a shiney new starter. After putting it on, the truck started, twice, shut the engine off, when inside. Two hours later, getting ready for a cross country trip, the starter spins at warp, but, no bendix action. I r & r'ed the starter, same result, while the starter was off, I ran my hand around flywheel, no broken or bad teeth. Tried to start it again, same problem. After reading some posts here about an `80's 7.3 the problem was a fusible link, I couldn't see any. Calling Napa, they thought it could be the fenderwell solenoid, so I replaced that one too. Same result, With the starter out I hooked the jumper cables up and tried the bendix, it worked great.
Ok, tried troubleshooting the ignition switch today, i have power to the red wire at all times and power to the yellow wire in the start position does this sound right?
