2002 explorer sport death rattle

Well my '02 explorer developed a small rattle recently. I figured it was something small as it's made rattling sounds before during the last several years.

I put it into the garage, figuring that it'd probably be a pcv valve or something.

Nope.

Turns out it's the timing chain! ooooook then, so it can't be too much money, just pop off the rad, and all the stuff on the front- remove replace & pay the man.

Surprise! guess where the timing chain is? at the BACK of the motor! yup, it's gonna be painful. Well heck, with an estimated 20 hour engine re&re and a conservative estimate of $4,500 to do this- no.

Traded her in on an '07 F150 supercrew lariat 5.4 litre. I had new tires and a full tank of gas in the explorer too! drat! LOL

Anyway the explorer got between 11 & 14 miles per gallon, (20 highway) (consistant over the 8 years that I had it) so if the F150 gets that or more I'm in the pink!

Now searching for a cost on a rear backup camera and sensors for the F150.
