Temp. cable replacement,hard or easy?

Just as it says, 93 Ranger temperature control cable has either broken, stretched or came off and I was wondering if this is something that is easy to replace or does the whole dang vehicle have to be taken apart. I am currently working on replacing a heater core on a 2000 Expedition is the reason I ask about the whole thing being taken apart, sheesh Ford why you gotta make things so difficult?

Not sure if you found out how to get to the heater control cables by now. But you should be able to get to them up under the dash just behind the heater control panel and see where the go over by the glove box. There may be a plastic or pressed board cover over the lower part of the heater box that you can remove easily to get to the ends of the cables, there behind the glove box. I know about your frustration with not keeping things simple and easy to access. After the 94 Ranger they made it more difficult. Let us know how it goes.
