Looks like the GTG was a success! Wish I could have made it. Too bad you made it through without injury Jay. Did you even work on your car? Makes a guy wonder cause you did not get hurt. LOL
Good morning Gerry, Jay, Dale and everyone else stopping by. Today is the day to relax and get ready for Monday. It's going to be a busy one here. Church, Church meeting then hopefully work on pinewood derby car for my son.
Seriously ... look at a full Android tablet (Samsung, Google, Asus ... not some $100 store POS). The Kindle Fire is a an Android tablet, but not full Andoird. The Kindle app is available for Android. 2/3 of my courses so far were available. One was a proprietary app, but was available for Android. The other one was available for Kindle app on Android. If you're going to get a tablet (that's really what a Kindle fire is), get something that is more open than the Kindle. While it runs Android, it's a modified version of it and a fraction of the available apps.
The Google Nexus 7 is perfect for being and eReader. The 10" is a bit big for a reader.
I ended up getting a barely used, never registered kindle fire with case for $120. While openness of the others would be more ideal, I have my laptop for a reason, and will continue to use it more than an ereader for basic stuff. I like real keyboards over the digital ones.
