Well I got exciting news when I woke up this morning! I am going to be moving to Eglin AFB, FL this fall! I got orders once again, hopefully I will not have these stripped away like my last set. At least this will be an easier move and I will not have to put anything into storage. We are excited to be moving closer to home.

Congrats Andy, but sure do hate to hear you'll be leaving us
Don't tell Jeff, but I think I'm going to leave the freezer door open again tonight. Andy, hate to hear we're loosing you...but with the Chair Force (or any branch of the DOD) I understand how it works. The best of luck in Florida. Don't be a stranger.

Thought I'd post this as a PSA for you diesel guys:
CO2 fire extinguishers work even better than the rag that was supposedly lost to the intake...and that will shut 'em down with just a couple of "squirts". But I've often thought every DD sounded like a run away & ready to through a rod when they were "functioning normally". Yes, I'm a dozer motor kind of guy.

Good day all and Happy New Year, I hope everyone has a prosperous 2013. We have been having a little sleet and rain every day for the past several days. I know we need the rain and I welcome it but I wish I could tinker on my truck a little.
We got real lucky, only between 1/4 and 1/2'' of ice today Could have been a whole lot worse Out here in the middle of nowhere, 20 miles in any direction to cities, when the lights go out it takes a while for them to get us going again
Jeff, I keep forgeting to say...that's a good looking deck there by the snowbird. Glad that's you on that honey-do project and not me. A carpenter I am not.

Well, could have been worse...the lightbulb in the fridge could have gone out this time! We got some snow flurries most of the day yesterday...but unlike Monday morning there wasn't even enough to turn the ground white. Y'all in central & southern Ark have been taking a betting here lately on that white stuff.
So yesterday, for the first time in the 10 years we've owned the Explorer...I decided to change the oil myself instead of taking it to the dealership (on one of those "lifetime oil change" deals). I had suspensioned things weren't right, when I saw the Pensoil filter on the bottom of the engine...I got a little irritated. It wasn't even the right part number, half the size of the FL1A that belongs on there. I'd like to call the service manager at the dealership and give him a piece of my mind on how crappy this is as well as how they've treated us with the Focus...but (A) I doubt he really would care and (B) I don't have much to gray matter to spare.
