how do i adjust timing?

i have a 95 f-150 and i think the timing is a little off. How do i adjust this. Does this have to do with the lifters clicking against the valves, also how can i fix that do i need new lifters? thanks.

Get a timing light & a distributor wrench, and read the instructions on the emissions sticker in your engine compartment.

I'd do a tune-up first - the valve tap could be caused by preignition or some other basic problem. Start with the easy stuff and see if it goes away. For the second step, you might buy a cheap oil pressure gauge and install it temporarily to see how much you have.

hmmm i've done a full tuneup i'm not getting pre ignition its defintaly the lifters. i think they are worn and not opening the valves up all the way. I was out looking at the motor today and i think this is it, is there anything that can be fixed for this? or am i gonna have to have new lifters put in.
