Oddball things.
Well I got bored and made a reciever hitch out of a spare tow hook I had. Also helped my dad change out his fuel pump in his 95 F150. The float was completely deteriorated and also the inside of the tank was grimy so he bought another tank. It was the front tank that hadnt been used in years but the rear tank was full of gas so we took the path that we thought was the least resistant and changed the front pump. Shoulda stuck with the rear. Anyway we couldnt get our hands on a float today so he used a lamp bulb. It did float but his sending unit ending up being shot also. Here are a few pics and also of my new brakes. What are some of yalls oddball ideas or inventions.

I just welded a plate to some 2" tubing and matched the bolt pattern. I did redo the threads in the tow hook to 1/2-13 so I'd have bolts long enough. Haven't tried it out yet but since I sometimes move stuff around the yard id rather use a tow hook than throw a chain over the ball.

Sure beats using a match to see if you are out of gasoline...
I don't think the spark would ignite Diesel either??
Now, if it was gasoline - you would only need a single-use bulb...
