I have a friend in the military (overseas)..he asked a question and I don't know...His truck is 2002 F250 6" lift and 2" block and shackle....here is his qiestion:

Its patrick i was wondering what our backspacing on our wheels needed to be so that we dont rub the leaf springs at full turn. I am going to buy wheels and tires when i get back from my deployment.
I thought our backspace was 4.25 on our trucks... I also though our stock wheels (the aluminum with the 8 holes) were a +6 offset. I've been researching wheels and tires for my truck as well and have found this calculators to be handy. www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp. Please correct me if my backspace and offset numbers I gave above are wrong. Thanks.
Todd
Hi guys i am the friend of Joey's i was looking at a set of wheels with a 4.5" backspacing but as we all know these trucks are not cheap to fix if something is done wrong. My question remains will these fit or do i need to move on to a different wheel
If I'm reading right, you are wondering what offset on the wheel you need to not rub the leaf springs correct? What size tire are you planning to run? With 37x13.50 Toyo's I had to go with a -20 offset wheel to get them to not rub. If you are running a 12.50 tire, might not have to go to that extreme.

That's really the question that needs to be asked, good point.
What are you wanting to run? I have -24 offset in a 16X10 wheel.
My front bumper is spaced, and inner fender tied back from tire rub with 34.7" tires and a 2.7" levelling kit, but clearance is fine, and no rub on leaf springs at full lock.
same as al, but with 17x10" rims. Barely rub on leafs at full crank. Did crack my drivers inner fender, but this might have been due to my body mounts are work out

I was looking at the RBP 95R 20X10 -25 offset with a 38X13.5 write now i have weld wheels with 38X13.5 not sure on the backspacing and my wife cant pull these off and measure them to get exact. If you guys have any suggetions let me know they are much appreciated

I would imagine a -25 offset would be fine. Like I said, I ran 37x13.50 toyos (they actually measure to a little over 14") with a -20 offset and have no noticeable rub at full lock. Fender plastics are a different story, mine are shredded and the fenders have been "massaged" into clearance by the tires themselves.

i see that this is an old thread, how far did you have to space out the bumper? what did you use? washers or a plate? i want to run a 16x10 on the front of my dually

I just used a piece of 1/2" flat strap with 2 holes for the bolts, to space it about a 1/2" out.
