2000/2001 Expedtion colors and availability
I know Tropic Green(SU) was offered in 2000, then it was replaced for 2001 model year by Dark Highland Green(PX), but I need to find out the actual "cut off" date Ford stopped offering Tropic Green, and the actual first production date for Dark Highland Green. I've found a "2000" model year Expy, but it looks like it's painted Dark Highland Green. It has the 17" styled steel wheels offered from '97-'00, which weren't available for 2001, and the paint looks original. I guess I could read the door tag, and see the color code, and production date. Owner said vehicle is a "late" 2000 truck. Might be a special order paint code, too.

It's been my understanding that there were running changes made in every manufacturer's production as well as variations from one plant to another. You might be best served by going to your local dealer and ask them for a build sheet. They can print it out with full information on your truck if you provide the VIN and at no cost.

Thanks. That is a good idea, but last time I tried to get a build sheet for my father's 1994 Bronco, through the Ford website, there was a charge for it. I know they used to be free. Anyway, about that 2000 Expy, I found out it was ordered with a "933 code" (special order paint) in a 2000 model year Super Duty color: Woodland Green. I knew it was darker than the Tropic Green available for Expys that year.
