At this point if I were you I think I would hold off on replacing everything again until you're positive you don't just need a carb tune. If it's brand new and just bolted on, and your problem just started, and you've already replaced most ignition items once, check out your carb tune. How did the plugs look when you pulled the old ones? Also, have you checked your timing? And if all else fails, do a compression test and check for timing chain stretch. I think the first thing I would do, since you've already bought all new components, is have the carb. tuned if it hasn't been already. Then check your new ignition parts again and then check timing, chain stretch, compression, etc. and let us know how it turns out.
Instead of spending all your money on new plugs/wires/cap and rotor, etc. again, you might be better off just to take your truck somewhere and have the carb. tuned and all the other stuff checked for you if you don't have the tools.
Or... If you have a vacuum guage you can tune the carb yourself. Hook it to (Manifold vacuum) and slowly and evenly adjust both screws 1/4 turn at a time, screwing them in and keep an eye on your vacuum guage and stop when you get the highest vacuum possible, and if you go to far you will know because you will start to starve the engine and it will stumble. Sounds like its just a rich carb, especial if it only misses under load or up hill..... Good luck..
I have the Edelbrock 600cfm on my 302, and it does not run too ritch, when I set the A/F mixture I screwd the screws in all the way (not to tight) just untill they are snug, and backed them out 2 1/2 turns and this gave me a good start point, also when I was messing with this I replaced my dizzy and my timing was a little off, so be sure to check the timing and then set the mixture or it can throw you off, also your idle will need to be adjusted after you set the A/F mixture. Good luck...

...well yall i finally found out what was wrong with my engine missing..now to anybody that buys the autozone lifetime warr..sparkplug wires..i bought a set of them less than a year ago ..so to my thought that was not the problem..well turn out after i replaced the plugs, distrb cap, rotor, coil, fuel filter, new air cleaner, and then turn my thoughts that the new edelbrock carb was messing up..it was the plug wires ........well i called autozone they said they would replace the wires no charge..but i said no thanks and got some higher quality napa made wires..you get what you pay for
Hey, I've got the same problem, I think. Did your engine miss randomly?
I haven't put my truck under any load in the three months I've had it, but the engine does start to miss the most when I accellerate quickly or go too fast. I did replace plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air and fuel filters, and it doesn't miss near as much, and it doesn't miss any more when I go fast than normal speeds. I bought all my stuff at Autozone. I haven't tuned the carb though. Would timing have an effect? I was going to check that but haven't been able to yet.
I don't think the burned out cylinder has much to do with it since it misses so randomly.
