I'm getting my tires put on and my truck inspected at Firestone today and they called and said 'You're antifreeze is getting a little dirty' and they asked if I wanted them to flush it. $70!!! :-staun
So is it possible to do this myself, and if it is how do I do it?
https://www.ford-trucks.com/dcforum/97up/1343.html I found this link on it, so i'm asuming I can. Do I do my 91 the sameway? Whats the best kind of fluid etc etc
I flush mine about every 3 months...All I do is pull the plug on the bottom of the radiator, let it drain, then put the garden hose in the top of the radiator, start the truck, let it run for about 10 minutes, put the plug back in, and fill it up. Costs whatever a gallon of antifreeze is going for these days.
It depends on what radiator you have. Buy 2 gallons of antifreeze, and some flush. Do what the flush bottle directions say, and put in the antifreeze. Run your motor to operating temp and heater on high. cool the motor and fill it up with remaining antifreeze and use water for the rest!
