Some of you will know me from the Cleveland forum. I would like to know if all FE intakes fit on any FE block. Case in point, im looking at a 428 dual carb intake for a 390. its a 1970 block.
My mind cant remember, and I have been building Clevelands of late.
As far as I know, an FE block is an FE block. The only oddity for the engines is the variety of original 427 heads and intakes.
The 427 had some medium riser and tunnel port heads that require appropriate intake manifolds.
If you're dealing with heads designed to fit the majority of FE engines, 360, 390, 428 etc. , then the intakes are interchangeable.
Hope that answers your question.
I'd say it's better than 95% that you won't have an issue. If you do have an intake/heads mismatch then you may some very rare and expensive 427 parts :-)
