Probably my last post, and Merry Christmas
I want to thank everyone on FTE for all the input, answers, encouragement, and helpful comments. Due to "financial reasons" I'm selling my beloved Lucille. I bought her in late summer 2011 from a guy in Erie PA. She was a cool truck but she needed a bunch of work to bring her up to my standards. So after thousands of dollars in parts and hundreds of hours, she was ready to enjoy. One thing led to another and after just squeaking by week after week I phoned a guy in Michigan who wanted to purchase her since he saw her last summer. Selling her means that I can finish my new garage, and have a few bucks as a back up. The company I work for is on rocky ground as well so having a few dollars for a rainy day couldn't hurt either. The new owner appears to be a worthy owner who will take care of her and give her a good home. She's getting picked up on January 2nd so for the time being, I probably won't have much to contribute to our forum. Maybe I'll find another "Lucille" in a few years and I'll post again. I feel pretty good about the sale because she's leaving as a better truck than when I bought her.
Merry Christmas everyone, and have a Happy New Year!

Sorry to see you leave FTE... Economy is poor and it affects people in different ways.
I like what you said and maybe that is a credo we all should live by: "I feel pretty good about the sale because she's leaving as a better truck than when I bought her."
This sort of sounds like that Christmas story/dilemma where a man sold his gold pocket watch to buy his wife a comb and the wife sold here hair to buy him a pocket watch chain (or something like that). You sold your truck and now you can finish your garage but now you have no truck to park in that garage....
Someday a ford truck will follow you home to live in that garage!

Well sir, good luck to you. I would say that anyone who can produce a truck like that will always have plenty to contribute here. That is a fine looking truck and it's too bad you couldn't enjoy it longer. Please check the boards from time to time and contribute as you wish. Again, good luck and Merry Christmas!

Wally,
she's a beauty and I know how hard it is to let her go... even to a good home. You've spent hours with her and shed blood over her... but you gotta do what you gotta do.
But, you don't have to leave... we've all become friends and shared a lot together over the years... hang around... share what you know... help up pick on the noobies... besides I need help keeping Penn Dick and Bobby in line...
