Post Engine or transmission?

While idling in traffic on a hot day (A/C on), I feel a lurch or shudder intermittantly. If I shift to neutral or park, it goes away. I have recently done a tune-up, and everything looks good. I suspected the engine was missing, but it seems more like a tranny issue. Anybody have a similar experience?

Engine or transmission?

Hi Kevin,
I would suspect that you have a slight miss in the engine personally. I figure that the reason it goes away in Park or Neutral is the fact that you are increasing the idle speed enough. You might want to check your wires and coil for starters. See if you can get it to a garage to have it put on a scope if you cannot locate the trouble yourself. It might even be a sensor acting up too.

Could it not just be the A/C compressor cycling? When it cycles on, your brakes hold the truck 100% still. When it cycles off, the reduced load on the engine frees-up just enough power for the truck to feel like it wants to "go". That's my $.02 anyways.
