I am hoping there will be a good part # for this seal Second picture down.
It is for my 52 F-7 truck rear end 2 spd and I have read that the electric 2 spd was not introduced with these trucks until the very late models.
I would like to see if my local Napa has the part or one of these local truck service shops has or can get it so that I am not waiting a week to be able to finish my brake job and can get these drums back on.

Verify what rear you have in the truck.

I must be missing something. I do not see that part on the eaton 2 speed axle diagram. My part cd has two eatons for that year, 2 speed. I cant seem to see that on my copy.
Just looked at tht section. Does 30 dodge have disc type or spoke type hubs I was pulling the diagrams for the axle parts them selves. But it also appears that there may be two different types of hubs also.

From the pic in the manual, I am assuming he has disc (Budd) as I see studs. Spoke or Dayton style wheels obviously don't have studs. That was why i prefaced with verifying the rear. The parts book doesnt have ANY diagrams of the disc rear hubs (only spoke style), so it's difficult to find in the parts book. Here is the manul page
I'm not sure electric 2 speed was norm until later years, but I'm no expert on them.. 49 F-6 has vacuum operated Eaton 2 speed. Anything can happen over 60 years, so a later rear may be in it, or converted to electric etc. I do have a 51 Ford Service Forum manual, but it only lists center member rebuilding and vacuum shift mech rebuilding
Yes, I just checked my stuff. I have a 54 F-750, Q with single speed rear, Timken H150 axle and spoke type hubs. So everythig is so different. Tube type tires. However, That last diagram I pposted, did not give for that combination.
Your ref pic looks like the later 1956 book. Those are tough to read because there are no illustrations in the main book, they are in a different book. Also, Ford superseded a lot of older parts with newer offerings that would fit, so they can be inaccurate or redundant.
My 56 parts book lists "Q" for a 51-52 still on page XII of the index.
In this book, 48-56 is listed with p/n: B9T-1181-A for the seal kit. (National 7154A kit), which interchanges to a 25160 again....same as the 5401... full circle and typical Ford
It may have the same axle ends etc all the way to 56, so you could conceivably cobble together an electric 2 speed from a later truck to an earlier one, never tried, but possibly what 1930Dodge has. I believe the 2 speed axle from a 42-47 is the same as the 48-52, but different hubs, drums etc.
like the SKF ref. My shop book is a 54-55 version. Preety good. but it does not have every scenario. You have to wing it sometimes. I could have used the skf info when i did my axle stuff over. Was still trying to get ford numbers. It became difficult.
