sometimes you can take a hammer and LIGHTLY tap directly onto the motor while pressing the switch and it may work, if so then replace the motor. when they go out the brushes will tend to stick or get build up where they contact.
but this will only be a temporary-til-you-get-the-motor fix.
this is all assuming that there is power to the motor and a good ground.

You must be lucky! When mine go out they are always down. I have to remove the panel and pull the motor over just to get it back up.
Just like Ponyracer said somtimes you can tap the motor to get it working again. I just had to do that the other day!
Oh by the way drill out a couple 1/2" holes to get to the bolts. It makes the job alot easier. It's kind of hard getting a 5/16 in there!

When mine quit, I disassembled the motor, cleaned out the carbon, cleaned the armature with emory cloth, reassembled & still working 3 years later.
Another problem with these is, there is a rubber stop mounted on a pin sticking out that can become flattened or fall off allowing the assembly to go down too far & jam. I fabricated a rubber bumper to replace the original & evething is groovy again.
