I was wondering how long it would take to install the lift myself? I will be doing it inside a professional garage so I will have all the available tools needed, plus up on a lift if needed. Im shooting for 7-8 hours. Think thats reasonable with the air tools and everything else?
Yeah, like everyone else said it's impossible to tell without knowing what kind of lift. If it's IFS then probably a couple of days and if it's a solid axle rig it could be done in 8 hours or so if you know what you're doing. Mine took 6 hours. That was no screwing around having everything ready to go and in a shop.
Yeah sorry, it is IFS lift. I'll have all the tools ready for when the time comes and I'll ahve 2 other poeople working with me. Im looking at a couple days work still?
Depends on how much custom fabricating you have to do. Four Wheeler magazine just did a test on a 5" Superlift for the '97 - up F150's. They said one of the brackets didn't fit so they had to modify the old one, and they also had to have the exhaust redone to clear the rear shock.
You never want to confine yourself to short time limits. I always leave twice as much time as I think I'll need. You never know what you're going to run into. I just put a 6" skyjacker on my 95 F-150 and it took me a long time. Atleast 20 hours to get it complete, by myself.
