P0606 code advice

Hey guys. My buddy has a 2005 and recently he has experienced an intermittent hiccup/loss of power. Today his edge gave him this PCM code. Any ideas on what it might be, any things he can check.....is the power loss/hiccup related?

The truck has an egr delete and although it acts like a stuck valve, doubt thats it.

Thanks for the help
Joe

Possible causes
- Engine Control Module (ECM) Harness power supply circuit is open or shorted
- Engine Control Module (ECM) Programming
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM) Help with this

Tech notes
Check the ECM/PCM fuse, if fuse is OK try erasing the code first and if the code comes back you may have to reprogram or replaced the ECM/PCM.
Help with this

When is the code detected?
Indicates the ECM/PCM has experienced an internal memory fault.
Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Engine may not start
P0606 Description
The Engine Control Module (ECM) continuously monitors its internal memory status, internal circuits, and output signals to the throttle actuator. This self−check insures that the ECM is functioning properly. If any malfunction is detected, the ECM will set the code and illuminate the engine light.
Possible solution
- Resecure ECM/PCM connectors
- Reprogram ECM/PCM
- Replaced ECM/PCM

from the spreadsheets

Found it odd the EOT sensor comes into play

would definatly be worth checking into a EOT sensor

Somewhere around 260 EOT the PCM is supposed to shutdown the engine and not let it restart untill cleared. I wonder if that has something to do with it?

That is very intersting. His power loss is only intermittent and a mere hiccup, not a shut down or long power loss situation

Check battery cables mainly driver side positive into fuse box. Mine was loose and did the same thing this morning.

I'm having the same code and problem, only with my truck when it hicups it actually stalls, specially when you are slowing down at an intersection, or going trough a bumpy road.

Also have problems starting, but this only happens when the truck wants too, haven't been able to pin down why. It does it cold, hot you can shutdown the truck and try to restart it won't start, wait a few minutes/seconds and boom it starts.

You should start a New Thread on this, you will have better response and keep it in your own thread, so your not mixing
I would think HPOP leak , have you ever replaced stand pipe and dummy plugs? you should Monitor ICP,IPR and maybe do a pressure test

Dummy pluggs and stand pipes replaced last year, also changed oil cooler to bulletproof diesel oil cooler. I was thinking HPOP also but was hoping it was not. ICP reaches starting minimum on my Edge over 500psi, put in dash oil pressure gauge takes a few seconds after startup to come alive.

Try swaping pcm power relay and pcm diode. Check the contacts for corrosion and spread pins
