Bought a new battery today and installed it, and tried to start my truck but nothing happened, didnt click, dashboard didnt light up, and i couldnt turn on the lights, idk what it could be! so can anyone give me any ideas about what it might be? im thinking it's a relay but i have no idea where they are to replace them!
Was it ok before with the old battery, or is this something you just got and are trying to get running?
Did you clean the battery terminals and cable ends? Even a new battery can get a coating on the terminals that will make it get no power to anything.
Check for power at the starter relay with a test light (might want to clean all those connections too).
The power wires are hooked up to the starter relay and have fusable links next to the terminals. They feed the entire truck (besides the main wire to the starter).

Check all the cables attached to the starter solenoid. Unplug your battery, remover these cables, then put it all back. On my truck sometimes they just dont seat right and then I get no juice. Even happens randomnly sometimes

Yeah it's been my daily since high school, just got back from the oil field and wanted to take her out, and my dad took the battery off of it for one of his trucks so i bought a new one, and connected it, and now nothing. but when i connected the battery the solenoid started smoking for a little bit and busted the terminal so i bought a new wire, and now i'm thinking it might be a relay, but only relay i found was the fuel pump relay im guessing, which is the original on the truck, the green one if im correct but im looking for a main relay on the truck too? is there a main relay?
Check that you didn't reverse the polarity on the truck when you connected the battery. Some batteries have the positive and negative on opposite sides to what was on the truck. Always make sure you hook the solenoid up to positive on the battery.
It sounds like that you fried your fuse link and need to replace it from what I can gather, or you forgot to hook it back up. "Smoke", "Terminal", "wire" etc... The main fuse link comes off the starter solenoid as CTUBUTIS (Chris) described earlier.
