I've got a broken spring and can't find the code. the sticker is gone. Its a 99 5.4 longbed std cab can someone look on their sticker if they have this same truck and tell me what it says for the spring code. It on the drivers door sticker bottom right I think
Thanks for getting back,
How would i know if I have the snow plow option?
where on the sticker. could you send me a pic of yours. Maybe I could figure out what the rest of mine says if I knew where to look. The right rear is broke. the over and under is fine its the center main leaf the bottom two leafs in the rear are gone.
Oh the rear spring, I belive there was only one spring offered for the rear and 3 for the front. If I were you, and you could afford it, I would replace both as a pair. That way if your other spring is beat, the trunk won't lean to one side.
You might try your local spring shop as well. I broke a rear leaf on my '95 F250, and the local guys were half the cost of a factory replacement. They installed additional overlads as well.
Any parts store should be able to get rear leaf springs. Change both as a pair. Most 4x4 shops install lift kits and some come with leaf springs included. Those same kits are generally available for 2WD models. Check in an offroad truck magazine for prices. To buy springs you need the code and options if you are going to the dealer. But aftermarket sources allow you to increase your payload, change ride height, and firm or soften your truck's ride. My F250 and F350 both have soften and weakened with years of hard work. My advice is check around and decide if you want same as new springs or better. You have to know weight rating, # springs, width, length and shackle size (width, size of bolt-diameter & length).
Thanks for the info.
I'm gonna go with the springs that came on the truck cause they aren't to pricey and they are coated to prevent corosion. After market springs up here in Vt melt away on a plow truck.
