brakes Bleeding

I have a question. I just replaced rear brakes and 1 wheel cylinder on my in-laws 95F250. Bleed them out, get a solid pedal, but when you back up, you almost have to stand(and I mean STAND) on the pedal to get it to stop, and the brake light on the dash comes on. Going forward it's fine though. What could be the problem?
Thanks
Rich

Did you bleed the anti-lock control module?

yes, Went by the way the book said, just bleed it like you would normally a set of brakes. The ABS light comes on and cycles normally with the startup of the truck, just not sure where to go at this point. I adjusted the rear brakes up till they just start to drag on the drums.
Thanks,
Rich

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-Aug-02 AT 01:25 PM (EST)]94van has a good point there. People do mess those up.

Are all springs in the right way, and nothing is binding the rear brakes making them not move fully? (I ask that last one only because of what happened to me yesterday:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/dcforum/DCForumID75/340.html )

Not sure if they still do this on the F-250's, but did you do a couple of quick hits of the brakes while moving backward to set the adjusters better?

Does the Emergency brake work well (place trans in neutral) both facing up and down a good hill?
