If they suck so bad then why are they still touring and filling every damned venue that they book? How many shows did JJ perform this year? Don't get me wrong, I like JJ but she ain't the best. Her mega hit, " I love rock and roll" was a cover song originally performed by the British rock group, The Arrows.
The Wilson sisters of Heart are far more deserving and quite frankly, tiny little Pat Benatar (sp) steals the show.
I wouldn't let it bother you. If you take a look at the entire list of the inductees who actually HAVE made it over the years, you will then decide that the R&R HOF is nothing more than a joke.
On the subject of Joan Jett versus Journey - I vote for Joan Jett...
Journey has been classified as a "progressive rock" band, but in my opinion a lot of it sounds more like jazz than rock - I just don't, personally, consider Journey to be a rock band - and this is from someone who owns a copy of the Time3 boxed set lol...
Whenever I hear Journey, I keep thinking of their early stuff that still had the Carlos Santana sound - it wasn't until after they acquired Steve Perry that they started developing their own sound...
Joan Jett, on the other hand - oh yeah, she can definitely rock...
I think that Rush getting perennially ignored sucks......THAT'S a travesty.
I'll double check but I could have sworn Rush got in this round. I first saw them here at the Aragon ballroom back in 1976. Been loyal ever since, true musicians who successfully took it on as a career. They still are on stage exactly at the ticket time, no bs. I bet I've seen them a dozen times.
