i have a 360fe looks stock has 2 barrel carb out of 76 4x4 or 351w out of a 1996 truck that i was going to carb but thinken 350 hp maybe little more if i can afford it is one or the other cheaper to get there or be more dependable going in a 72 ford swb with 4 speed dont know gear in rear have to open it up and see will worry about that later this truck is just for fun might take it out 2 times a month not worried about gas consumption getting body ready to put back on frame now both engines seam to run well no smoke both sound tight going to put one in while i build the other which one is more economical to get a dependable 350 hp engine from and what would u do to get there owe the 72 had a 351 w in it when i got it but the block had a big extra hole in the side so the mounts and bell are there the 360 also has a bell that i think will work it also had 4 speed thanks for your time
The 360 can be made into a runner, but requires a crank, rod and piston change to make it a 390 with some compression. I would also bet the 20 year newer 351w might be in better condition.
350 horse? Never from the 360, will take a cam and some other fiddling with the 351w methinks.
That '96 is a roller motor and 350hp won't be a problem just bolt on a set of RHS 180cc cylinder heads a Comp magnum 260 or 270 and your choice of 650cfm 4bbl intake and carb.
