I have a 76 crew cab 2wd that has developed a grinding noise at lower speeds 0-40 KPH. It vibrates the whole cab. It sounds like a rotating grind with a high-low sound. The truck is well maintained and I have changed a number of parts to solve this problem in the last six months with no success.
Parts replaced or new
Transmission rebuild 2 years ago (C6)
New wheels bearings all around
New brakes all around
New U-joints and center bearing
Rear diff was opened up and inspected. looked ok no filings
I am hoping that my transmission is not going bad truck is driven very little. I am starting to thing it might be worn motor mounts.(There is no clunking noise when you put it into gear). Truck makes noise when you put it into neutral when driving. The noise is much worse after I have driven it on the highway.
Any help would would be great.
