I have been dreading doing the right exhaust manifold gasket on my 96 460 for almost a year now and I finally noticed a bolt that just broke off, 2nd from the back, and I decided it was time. All the other bolts came right out with an impact but I couldn't remove the manifold with the long bolt still in the head. I had to loosen the motor mount and jack up the engine to gain clearance to remove the manifold. I got the manifold off and the broken bolt wouldn't budge, twisted off at the head. I drilled and easy outed, no luck. I drilled some more, broke bits, then was out of options. I went and got a die grinder bit and just hogged out the center of the bolt until I wore out the abrasives, the burned up a diamond cutting bit in the process. Well by now there was little of nothing left of the bolt so I hit it with a left hand bit and it came right out, saved the threads and all, sometimes brute force and ignorance prevails!!
i just went through that exact same problem. Except, I had 3 bolts that wouldnt come out, with one being broken. I used heat from a torch, and it came out. That was only one side...on to the other side in the next day or two.
