New Guy here

I am new to this forum but by no means new. I bought a 1970 f100 long box step side last summer original paint straight 6, 4-speed 2wd. The patina on the truck is priceless i got the truck at a real real good deal ! my plans with the truck is to drop it letter the doors and drive it

My question is what is the Best way to drop the truck ? ( I dont want to cut the frame )

thanks frank

Ya LETTER THE DOORS Like Frankie's wine and liquor, licker in the front poker in the rear ! ( steel wool the painted lettering so it matches the trucks patina )and poverty caps small ford center caps. I have no intentions of restoring a 1970 f-100 . kind of a really cool driver and dont care if it gets wet or door dings wax is over rated ! I have too many show and go cars & trucks and dont need another ! ( cars in my stable are 100% original 69 SCJ 428 mustang(i bough in 1983 when i was 18 years old) which I cant drive in fear of some IDIOT messing it up and me having to spend the rest of my natural born life in prison. I also have 67 Plymouth satellite with Kieth black Hemi( that was left to me from a friend who died from cancer 20 years ago ) I have MANY MANY more ) I am not trying to have a big dick contest I just really love cars and want something i can drive and don't have to worry about ! And as far as you being to old or Confused goes hopefully this will shine some light on your problems !

Wheel Vintiques has some nice wheels but there wheels wont allow the use of stock rim center caps

I run factory 8 inch ford wheels with 3 inch bands and centers. Weird....I too have a 69 428 SCJ mach 1.

5x5.5 Wheel Vintiques Series 62 in 15x8 (with 4-inch BS) wearing good ol' dog dishes... $83 from Summit Racing... the hubcap? A whopping $1.50! :

Thank you very much I did not see them I would love to put 10" rears and 8" fronts with as big a tire that will fit under the lowered truck

You're welcome. I didn't see them on WV's website either and was already hunting Broncos for 15x8s... it wasn't until a fellow FTE'er posted "WC Series 62" that they came up... I'm paying it forward.

I'm going with 275/60-15s on 15x8s in the back and stock steelies wearing 215/70-15s in front... This is the same sizing as williamwilliam's 68 below.

The stance rocks!

Thanks HIO. Not sure about a stepside, but I dont think I could get a 10 inch wheel on the back of mine the way its sitting....I think it would rub, but maybe thats because I have a wider tire on the back rim than I do on the front rim.

My SCJ was rotisserie restored back in 2001, it has about 95K on it. I bought it from the original owner who was a lady and she said she drove it everywhere....I cant imagine doing that! I drive my car around the block maybe 3-4 times a year and put it back into storage. Its royal maroon with a gold strip. I also have a candyapple red 69 mach 1, 351 windsor 4spd which came with a factory shaker. My prize possession (other than my 68 ford truck of course) is my 70 boss 429 mustang with 33K miles and still has its perfect wimbledon white paint. I managed to obtain that car through an estate sale back in 2003. Thats gonna put my daughter through college in 10 years, LOL.

I had mine sold 5 years ago at the top of the market for a crazy amount of money
when the two guy's got here and told me there plans for the car, I did not have the heart to sell in them. good thing it would have been in the tsunami in japan. Trust me I have no regrets ! Mine is a - R W code 4 Speed Gulfstream Aqua car I am going to be buried in mime lol

The mustang wont touch the 67 Plymouth with 750 RWHP But the Mach 1 is way more fun to drive
